Daivis Virbickas

Daivis Virbickas is an Associate Professor-Practitioner at Kaunas University of Technology and an expert at the Lithuanian Energy Institute, with more than 25 years of C-suite and board-level experience in the international energy sector. As the long-serving CEO of Litgrid, Lithuania's electricity transmission system operator, he led the development of the LitPol Link and NordBalt cross-border interconnections and spearheaded the strategic synchronisation of the Baltic power systems with the continental European grid. He has served as a board member of ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity, and as an expert adviser to the European Commission's Energy Expert Group, and has held chairman and board positions across multiple energy organisations. He also works as an independent energy business advisor to organisations navigating energy transition, grid modernisation, and regulatory strategy.
